Not sure what to say?

I’ve know Al since I started golfing at Friendswood golf course 40 plus years ago. We’ve taken many vacations to Springdale CC in Canton NC together, and I have so many wonderful memories of Al. I will miss him dearly, he was truly one of a kind.

Allen was a great friend and classmate. He always had a smile for everyone RIP, dear friend.

We were so Blessed that Kathy brought Al into our family. And treasure the good times and family memories we shared. We love you, God bless you all, Joy, Jill, Amy, Nick and your families. Our prayers and thoughts are with you

It's hard to believe how many years have passed. One of the first memories that always comes to mind of Uncle Al is his big, warm smile and the bear hug he’d greet you with, Al had a way of making everyone feel so welcome. Joy, Jill, Amy, and Nick, I’m keeping you all in my prayers. So many warm memories come flooding back. It brings a smile to my face thinking of him reunited with Aunt Kathy.

Al you will be truly missed it was a joy to play golf with you and know you as a friend from golf and life .

Al was an Avon High School football teammate. A great player. Al would come to our farm in Avon on tenth street on the weekends and we would run the fields, woods and chase the milk cows. RIP my friend.

Al was 2 time MVP on Avon's 1st winning football program and a great teammate!!!

I hope you are enjoying the perfect fairways and greens in Heaven. Save me a tee time and we will play when I get there. Love you forever Al.

Huston's Obituary

Huston Allen (Al) Sullivan, 76, of Avon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. Born on December 23, 1948, in Danville, Kentucky, Al was the son of Huston Sullivan and Mary Walker (Bryant) Sullivan. He grew up in Avon, Indiana, where he built a life rooted in hard work, love for family, and a steadfast appreciation for the simple joys of life.

A proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 Union, Al spent his career as a skilled sheet metal worker. His work ethic and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Al was more than a tradesman—he was a devoted husband, father, Papaw, and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Sullivan, and his sister, Janice Walker. He is survived by his loving family: sister Julie Sullivan, and children Joy Sullivan, Jill (Nathan) Johnson, Amy Pridemore, and Nick (Jill) Sullivan. He was the proud and adoring Papaw to his grandchildren, whom he cherished beyond measure.

A true sports enthusiast, Al could talk stats and teams with anyone. He was an avid golfer who found peace and joy on the greens and never met a dog he didn’t love. He lived by the simple yet powerful motto, Life is Good, a reflection of the gratitude and positivity he carried throughout his life.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon, IN. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 11th, at 10:00 a.m., also at Conkle Funeral Home.
