Irene's Obituary

Irene F. Burdulis, also know as "Sissy Libby" of Somerville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6th surrounded by her loving family. She was 91. 

Born in Boston and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Irene (Yeo) Libby. 

Irene was the beloved mother of Thomas Burdulis and his wife Debbie, James Burdulis and his wife Kim, Irene Marotta, Roseann Fasulo and Julia Duggan and the late John and William Burdulis. She was the devoted grandmother of Joanne Beaubrun and her husband Jeff, Melissa Brouillard, Michelle Young and her husband Steve, Michael Brouillard Jr., Philip Marotta and his wife Kim, Michael Marotta and his wife Ozzie, Nicole Marotta, Devin and Dylan Duggan, Christopher Burdulis, Jason Belen, Dj, Kyleigh Burdulis, Sarah Soares and her husband Eddie, Thomas Burdulis and his wife Chelsea and the late Christopher Robbins and his surviving wife Linda and the late Elizabeth Burdulis. She was the loving great-grandmother of Kiara, Ashley, Marco, Rosie, Brianna, Haley, Stevie, Ollie, Kayla, Courtney, Alexis, Antonio, Sam, Lorenzo, Kaitlyn, Christopher Jr., Liam, Callie, Brooklyn and Hudson. The dear sister of the late John, William and Walter Naughton, George "Tink", Edward, Lawrence" Duke" Libby and Dorothy Reardon. She was the cherished aunt of Doreen Crandall. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 12th at St. Joseph Church, 262 Washington St., Somerville at 10 AM. Please meet directly at church. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. 

Calling hours Friday, March 11th from 4PM to 7 PM. 

Services will conclude with interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
