Fran Walkingstick ElliottApril 14, 1953 – Oct. 3, 2025Fran (Walkingstick) Elliott, age 72, of Sallisaw, passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025. She was born on April 14, 1953, in Sallisaw to the late Mary Charlene (Lessley) Walkingstick and Louis Dwight Walkingstick, Sr.Fran dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. Her compassionate service included work at Baptist Health in Oklahoma City, Putnam City Schools, and Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw. Fran was also a cherished member of the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, where she fostered many meaningful relationships within her community.She is survived by her brother, Louis Walkingstick, Jr. and his wife, Christy of Sallisaw; three nephews, Justin Benham, Matt Walkingstick and his wife, Erica, and Sam Walkingstick and his wife, Callie; and five great-nieces and nephews, Anna and Austin Benham, Caleb, Luke and Abigail Walkingstick. Fran is also remembered by her cousins, Lisa Lessley, David Lessley and Madeline, Lea Lessley, Patrick Pointer and Deborah (Pointer) Kynes; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.Fran's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Akins Cemetery, under the direction of the Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.The family will receive visitors for a time of remembrance on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.Active pallbearers honoring Fran's memory will include Justin Benham, Austin Benham, Patrick Pointer, David Lessley, Dalton Lessley, Carter Lessley, Lea Lessley, and Bennett Lessley. Matt Walkingstick and Sam Walkingstick will serve as honorary pallbearers.
