Not sure what to say?

Our sincere condolences to the Sasse family! Jack was so instrumental in my “integration” into PB&S back in 1992. He was always the voice of reason in our business. I will always be grateful to Harold “Jack” Sasse!

To Brenda, and all of Jack’s loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Jack’s smile. He was always in high spirits. I know it brings you comfort to know that he is now in his Heavenly Home with Jesus with a big smile on his face. In Jesus Love, Darla

Jeff and Doug, Mrs Sasse, my condolences.

So very sorry Brenda. Jack was a big influence and inspiration to may of us at PB&S - Brenntag. In so many cases he was the voice of reason, that thankfully we listened to. I started in 1968, so I got to spend many years in the same office as Jack. He was a hard worker, but away from work he liked to be around people, laughing , telling stories, and if around music, dancing. I’m lucky to have had Jack as a friend. We can’t attend the funeral today because we’re in Florida, but we’re...

Brenda, Doug and Jeff and Don, Please accept my condolences on your loss of Jack. He was unfailingly pleasant, friendly and kind to me. I always enjoyed when our paths crossed. I can’t imagine how much you will miss him. May Jack rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I have loved you and your family for most of my life. I will miss you & all the bridge club members always. I have been blessed to have known you all. I sure hope Brenda will come visit with me.

I remember the fun cruise our families took when I was in college. Fun times. I'm so sorry I'm out of town and will miss your service. I would love to see Jeff & Kathy. Maybe they will still be in Henderson when I return. Til we meet...

My deepest condolences to Brenda and the family. Rest in peace, Mr. Sasse.

JACK's Obituary

Harold “Jack” Sasse, 92, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Redbanks Nursing Home.

Born in Henderson, Kentucky, on March 22, 1933, to the late Charles and Rosalee Sasse, Jack grew up on the family dairy farm.  He graduated from Henderson County High School and Murray State College where he majored in Chemistry.  Jack was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.  He and his wife, Brenda Welch Sasse, were married in 1961 and became the parents of two sons, Jeff and Doug.

Jack retired from P B & S Chemical Company after 35 years of employment.  He started the company’s first chlorine packaging plant and held the titles of plant engineer and safety director, manager of operations, vice president in charge of operations, and finally executive vice president.  Jack also served as a member of the Chlorine Institute Board of Directors.

He was a loyal member of the City Lions Club having joined in 1966.  Jack was chosen Lion of the Year in 1973-1974 and became a Melvin Jones Fellow in the 1999-2000 Lion year.  He was club president in 1972-1973.

The Salvation Army, Henderson Christian Community Outreach, Methodist Hospital Board, and Junior Achievement were some of the many civic endeavors he was involved with as well as active in leadership at First United Methodist Church.  Jack was also recipient of the Volunteer and Information Center LUV Award (Lifting Up Volunteers).

In retirement you could find Jack in his garden or at the fishing hole or the bridge table.  However, his favorite activity was spending time with his Triplet grandsons.  He was a Grand Grandy who loved teaching them to fish, taking them for wagon rides in the jungle, and making up fun games.  One of Dalton’s favorite memories is that Grandy bought him the coveted Santa cart when no one else would.  Jackson loved celebrating his birthday as he and Grandy watched March Madness together.  Grandy was Austin’s special person – they even had matching shirts for working in the garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lib Vogel and Irene Davidson.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Brenda; two sons, Jeff Sasse and his wife, Kathy, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Doug Sasse of Henderson, Kentucky; two brothers, Charles Sasse of Fairbury, Illinois, and Don Sasse of Henderson, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, and Jackson Sasse; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at First United Methodist Church.  The Reverend Janet Carden will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 492, Henderson, Kentucky 42419, or the Henderson Lions Club Sight Program, P.O. Box 842, Henderson, Kentucky 42419.
