My cousin Pumpkin, we were just talking about you and the good times we had with you during the the time you lived in Richmond Va. We all miss you and looking forward to rejoicing when we meet again. God knows best so rest my cousin in Paradise

My first cousin, I will miss you deeply. I think about all the good times we shared together, and I know you're in a much better place now. My deepest condolences to the rest of the family.

Jack's Obituary

Mr. Jack Whitaker, Jr was born March 4, 1961 to Mrs. Helen Jean Whitaker and the late Mr. Jack Whitaker, Sr. On July 29, 2024, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ reached out his hand for his son to come to his eternal home.

Jack was born in Richmond, Virginia in the Fulton community. He attended the Richmond Public Schools. Jack worked construction jobs like his Dad. He later moved to North Carolina and worked in farming for the last several years of his life.

Jack was an outgoing person who loved people and having a good time. He loved his family. He lived his life his way, on his own terms. He was loved by many.

In addition to his father, Mr. Jack Whitaker, Sr., Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Creason Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and dedicated mom, Mrs. Helen Whitaker; one daughter, Ericka Whitaker; one son, Corey Whitaker; two sisters, Ms. Lou Whitaker and Ms. Carolyn West of Richmond, VA; one devoted aunt, Mrs. Mable Evans; three uncles, Mr. Bob Lowe, Reverend Jimmy Lowe of North Carolina and Mr. Alfonzo Whitaker of New Jersey; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nieces; one nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at1:00 pm in the Shawn Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 515 E. 12th Street, Scotland Neck, NC. A Public Viewing was held one hour prior to the funeral service from 12:00 am – 1:00 pm. Funeral Arrangements were handled by Shawn Lea Funeral Home of Scotland Neck, North Carolina.
