Jackie M. Collins

Mrs. Jackie M. Collins, 67, of the Gapway Community of Mullins, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Friday, October 17, 2025, at her residence, with her loving son, Sammy, by her side. Born on November 5, 1957, in Marion County, South Carolina, Jackie was the daughter of the late James Woodrow “Buck” Hooks and the late Marion Joratha “Jo” Stevens Hooks. She spent most of her life between Mullins and Marion, where she went to school, raised a family, and worked within the community.

Jackie was a dedicated worker with the Hospital System, serving from 1977 until her retirement in 2023 from the MUSC-Marion Medical Center, marking 46 years of service. She cherished the many friends and acquaintances she made during her time at the hospital. Jackie was a devoted wife to her late husband, Robert Hugh Collins, Jr., and a loving mother to her son, Sammy, ensuring they always felt her love and care.

Jackie had a passion for cross stitching, particularly family trees, which she researched, created, and shared with family members. Her love for her family and her craft will be remembered by all who knew her.

Jackie is survived by her son, Sammy Neil Collins of Mullins, along with many extended family members and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hugh Collins, Jr., her parents, and her brother, James Stevie Hooks.
