Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Jackie was born Janice Eileen Martin on January 11, 1940, in Elsie, Nebraska, to Dale and Pauline Martin. At the age of three, she lovingly nicknamed herself “Jackie,” a name she carried proudly for the rest of her life. In 1943, her family moved to Colorado what Jackie always referred to as “God’s country” where they lived on a ranch southeast of Holyoke.
On February 16, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Donald Hill. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service.
Jackie was a longtime and devoted member of Central Baptist Church in Burkburnett, joining in August of 1971. Over the years, she faithfully served her church family as Nursery Coordinator for 20 years, worked with the youth group, and served as Chairman of the Bereavement Team. She was also an active member of the Meadowlane Garden Club and the Wichita County Home Extension Club.
For nearly 25 years, Jackie worked at Second Hand Rose in Burkburnett, where she was known for her kindness, reliability, and warm personality. She also served as a special needs transportation aide, where she lived out her faith through loving service to others.
Jackie had a deep love for cooking and baking. She authored two cookbooks, From Jackie’s Kitchen and More Good Cookin – Jackie’s Kitchen, sharing not only recipes but pieces of her heart. Her signature dish, sweet petal rolls, was a gift she lovingly made and shared with those she cared about. Jackie also loved entertaining friends in her home, especially hosting domino parties filled with laughter and fellowship. One of her family’s most cherished memories was Sunday lunch after church times when Jackie ensured everyone was together, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Above all else, Jackie’s legacy was love. She made certain that the people she loved always knew it. No one ever left her presence without hearing the words, “I love you.”
Along with her parents, Dale and Pauline Martin, Jackie was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Martin and Bob Martin, and her sister, Katherine Cannon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald Hill; her children, Tamara and Mike Morgan, Mitchell and Tracy Hill, and Robin Hill and Dustye Rhoads; her sisters, Bonnie and Jim McFadden, and Ronda and Bob Fetzer; her grandchildren, Jamie and Cody Bannister, Jared and Heather Burchett, Abigail Hill, and Ava Grace Hill; her great-grandchildren, Tatum and Kevin Sappington, Katelyn Burchett, Tanner and Liam Sikes, and Harley Bannister; her great-great-granddaughter, Adley Rose; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Battista; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sheridan Medical Lodge for the compassionate care Jackie received, and to Hospice of Wichita Falls for their kindness, comfort, and support during her final days.
