Jacqueline's Obituary

Jacqueline D. Parker, better known as 'Jackie', and lovingly referred to as 'Ma', and 'Mammay' by her kids and grandkids said her 'see you later' for the last time. On August 16th, 2025 she completed her course, and graduated to eternal life where she is now with our heavenly Father and has joined the great cloud of witnesses.

Born September 2, 1956 in Hopewell, Va, Jackie was the second oldest of 8 children to the late Willie Bromo Parker Jr. and Lena Mae Evans Parker of Surry, Va.

Jackie graduated from Hampton High School, attended Riverside School of Nursing, and afterwards joined the Army from 1981 to 1993 on active duty. She was stationed in Germany twice, Colorado and Kansas. Wherever her military orders placed her, she made it a priority to find a church home where she would actively serve, creating lifelong spiritual bonds with her church family who also helped her raise her son and daughter in the Lord. Once a member of Strong Tower Pentecostal Church, filled with many other military families in Stuttgart Germany, she was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, with fire shut up in her bones! There, she was ordained as a missionary, and set on fire for the Lord, bringing many to Him, and running for Jesus ever since. During her tour in Kansas, she was a devout member at 5th and Adams Pentecostal Church, extending the welcome each Sunday morning. Her enthusiasm, fervor, respect and love for God and His people transcended each Sunday service welcome, ushering in a spirit of radical praise and worship!

After separating from the military, she attended Kee Business college in Newport News, Va, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, gaining employment in nursing homes and other healthcare organizations. One of her many gifts was working with children. She absolutely loved children, and they loved and respected her too. Her energetic, funny, silly, and genuine loving demeanor perfectly aligned with her position as a teacher at Friends in Jesus Learning Center in Hampton, Va. After eventually leaving the workforce, her work as a servant continued. An additional God-given gift, well-known to others, was her blessed, soulful, powerful, and beautiful voice. Last-minute requests made, asking her to sing a song during worship service was normal and if she had one of her sisters with her, she would not hesitate at times, to call them up with her to help sing. Singing unto the Lord was her passion.

She was a worshipper, a fearless warrior, a servant of God, protector for the weak, leader, an avid writer, an uplifter and encourager to the downtrodden. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and devoted her entire life serving Him-witnessing however she could to others, even towards the end of her days as her health began to wane. She was truly in-love with Jesus Christ her personal Savior. Her life led by example, and she remained faithful to the Lord all the way to the end.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Lena Parker, and her older sister Nancy A. Renee Parker Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, LaMar Parker & daughter Lynn Miller (Ernest); five grandchildren, Lillian, Malakai & Mia Parker and Jadelyn & Parker Miller; six siblings, brother, Eric Parker; sister, Sonja Parker; brother, Jeffrey Parker (Barbara); brother, Aaron Parker (Teri); sister, Stephanie Parker; brother, Stacey Parker (Cheryl); Dad in Christ, Elder Johnson Lee Simpson Jr. (Louella) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

A graveside service will be held  Saturday, August 23, 2025, 12pm @ Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 8404 White Marsh Rd., Elberon, Va, 23846.
