Jacqueline's Obituaries

Jacqueline C. Pontnack, age 79, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at home surrounded by her family and beloved dogs, Hyde and Chloe. She was born December 17, 1939 in Dixon, IL to the late Carl and Pauline (Biggers) Brenner. Jackie married Robert Pontnack on March 28, 1969. He passed away on February 26, 2014.

She was a 1958 graduate of Dixon High School and a member of the Methodist Church in Dixon. Jackie worked for Micro Switch, Nabisco, and the Rockford School Districts. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and boating. She also loved to spend time with her family and her animals.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Catherine (Davy) Wilson of German Valley and Paula Lamont of Rockford; her son, Greg (Linda) Pontnack of Rockford; her grandchildren, Matthew (Miranda) Wilson, Bradley (Corrinne) Wilson, Jennifer Hansen, Michelle (Ken) Decker, Jimmy Lamont, and Cristal Kayle; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and loving companion of Paula Lamont, Jeff Whiting.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Walker Mortuary in Freeport at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation before the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. A private burial will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Northern Illinois Hospice and the American Lung Association, National Processing Center, P.O Box 11039, Lewiston, ME 04243-9409. The family would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Joseph Ross for his 40 years of loving care and to Cristi, his nurse, for answering all the calls, and to Mom’s care teams, 7th floor, CCU, and ER at Swedish American Hospital.
