Jacquie Timan, 74, of Gurnee, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 9, 2025, at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, Illinois.Jacquie was born March 28, 1951 in Highland Park, Illinois, the daughter of Bay and Mary (Peters) Darnell. She was a graduate of Deerfield High School, class of 1969, and a long time employee of the family’s trucking business, All Modes Inc. She retired from the company when it was sold but continued bookkeeping and supporting the family’s other operations for many more years. She enjoyed spending time with the friends and family who came to the shop and it was a central hub for most of her ongoing relationships.Throughout her life Jacquie loved traveling to race tracks all over the country. These trips were an opportunity for her to spend time with her best friends, her wonderful family, and for her to experience the greatest joys of her life. She would say her best friends in life were her parents and her brother, and these trips offered an abundance of time together talking, laughing, and telling stories.Jacquie loved the community that racing provided and was a great support to the racecar drivers in her family for all of her years, especially her dad, brother, nephew Erik and great-nephew Jackson. It was at the racetrack where Jacquie developed many of her closest friendships and fondest memories. When she wasn’t able to travel in her later years, Jacquie continued to watch online and loved to cheer everyone on. She stayed in touch with family updates through phone calls and occasional visits and loved knowing that the youngest members of the family were chasing their dreams and finding their way in the world.Jacquie is lovingly remembered by her brother Danny Darnell (fiancée Christie Kaye); her nephews and niece Erik (Amber) Darnell, Casey (Nancy) Darnell, and Dale (Jeff) LaBelle; her great-nephews and nieces Jackson, Annabeth, Liam, Lily, June, and Charlie; as well as other friends and family.Jacquie was preceded in death by her parents, Bay and Mary Darnell; sister-in-law, Lee Anne Darnell, and other cherished family members.Arrangements have been entrusted to Gurnee Salata Funeral Home 847-244-1155 or gurneesalatafh.com
