We did not know he had passed. My Mom & Dad were good friends with Jake. My Mom passed in 2011 my Dad in 1979. I think they went to the deaf school together.
Jake came to see us several times in Jackson. My Mom & brother visited him & his sister in Houlka . He was a very sweet man. We thought a lot of him. Sorry to hear of his passing. May he Rest In Peace. The family of William & Lela Thompson.

Jake Morris Ledbetter, Jr., 89 of Houlka, Mississippi died on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at His Residence in Houlka, Mississippi.Born Wednesday, January 14, 1925, he was the son of the late Jake Ledbetter and the late Winnie Ledbetter. He was retired from the Houston Chronical of Houston, TX. For 30 yearsSurviving are sister, Bobbie Jean (Reginald) Henry of Houlka, MS. and a Host of Nieces and NephewsHe was predeceased by brothers, Clanis Ledbetter, R.C.
