Jamelia Cotrice McClendon

Jamelia Cotrice McClendon “Millie” Enter into eternal rest on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the age of 31. She was born on June 23, 1994 to the union of Kathy Ann McClendon and Peter James McClendon Jr. in Houma, Louisiana. She was baptized at the Rock of Ages B.C. by Pastor Noah Smith, Sr. she was a devoted mother to her son Kyng whom she loved so dearly. She treasured spending time with her family and friends. Jamelia’s life and legacy will always be cherished by her son Kyng Lamorris Askins. Her loving parents, Peter, Jr and Kathy McClendon, her 2 sisters, Lakisha Franklin (Henry) of Youngsville, LA and Akema Sadae Armstrong (Charles) of Morgan City, LA. One brother, Peter McClendon III, her loving grandmother Mercedes McClendon and her loving great aunt Wilma Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jamelia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence C.J. McGee, Shirley McGee and Peter McClendon, Sr. One brother Khiry A. McClendon.Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 1216 Aycock Street, Houma, LA 70360 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment Deweyville Cemetery, Houma, LA.
