JAMES ALBERT NATHAN SIMPSON SR.

78, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

He was a retired warehouse employee of the old Winn Dixie Co., an avid University of Kentucky fan, and enjoyed spending time at Churchill Downs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mae Reiss Simpson; a son, Joseph Paul Simpson; and siblings, Paul V. Simpson Jr., John T. Simpson, and Donnie R. Simpson.

He is survived by his children, Deborah Simpson Berger (Michael), Rebecca Mae O’Neil (David), Cynthia Simpson Wilhite (Michael), and James Albert Simpson Jr. (Cindy); grandchildren, Rachel Jones (Wes Thieneman), Elizabeth Berger, Scott Berger, Abigail Wilhite, Ian Simpson, Jenna Wilhite, Zack Simpson, and Ryan O’Neil; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Carson and Lacey; and siblings, Beulah Stevens (Larry), Louis E. Simpson, Philip Simpson (Faye), Bonnie Baker (Richard) and David Simpson.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a. m. Saturday.

Memorial gifts may be made to the KY School for the Blind.
