James Stockard Barksdale, JrJames Stockard Barksdale, Jr. 54 of Steens, MS passed away, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.Visitation for Mr. Barksdale will be Monday, May 30, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services for Mr. Barksdale will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Gardner officiating and Bro. Mike Stone assisting. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.Mr. Barksdale was born December 7, 1956 to the late James Stockard & Frances Louise House Barksdale in Caledonia, MS. He was a lifetime resident of Lowndes County & a graduate of Caledonia High School. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of High Nob Hunting Club & Land O'Lakes, Brooksville, MS. He was the owner of Tri-Star Marine for 15 years. Mr. Barksdale is survived by his wife Joan Gandy Barksdale – Steens, MS, Son – Brian (Jennifer) Barksdale – Columbus, MS, daughters – Michelle Barksdale – Columbus, MS, Ladawn Marcum – Columbus, MS & Ashley (Shane) Pruett – Columbus, MS, brother – Ira Barksdale – Caledonia, MS, 4 grandchildren – Jena Barksdale, Hunter Lackey, Breanna Jones, Alexis Marcum.Pallbearers will be Shane Pruett, Joe Wayne Langford, Johnny Taylor, Don Hitchcock, Tim Scrivner & Ben Kilgore.
