Not sure what to say?

Sorry I didn’t find out about Jim’s passing until I saw his obituary in the paper , would have been at his service to meet his family that he so proud of. Jim and I served on probably 4 or so Kairos weekends and usually traveled together , as well as being a part of the Tuesday Prayer Group that Jim started and invited me to join that gathered for many years I was also honored to do many remodeling and repair projects at several of Joyce and Jim’s homes. Most recently Jim and I...

In loving memory of a wonderful Man. To Mary , Kathy ,Mark, Jimmy and Patty and their loving families. I am so very sorry for the loss of your dad. I know he was the rock of your family and was always there for all, including your friends. I am so happy I to have known your dad, he showed us all how a true loving man should be. I believed his faith played a major roll in his life and hisnchoices. May he rest in peace and be joined with his loved ones in heaven. xoxo

Jim was the best always with a smile and kind words.

Jim visited my sport shop in New London many times during his retirement.
Sometimes on business. Many times just to visit. We often reminisced about
Cannondale bikes. What a genuine gentleman. Rest in peace, Jim.

John Kiernan, Jr. New London

Jim is one of the sweetest people I ever met. RIP Jim. ❤❤❤

I always loved seeing Jim and Joyce come into MacKennas restaurant. Absolutely some of our favorite customers. I will always remember him because I called him John for YEARS and he never told me his name was Jim until our last year in business. I still laugh when I remember that exchange. I still called him John sometimes as a joke. He was such a fun, kind man. We are sorry to hear of his passing.

Jim & Joyce were good friends for many years in New Canaan, Ct. and New London, N. H. We enjoyed being with them discussing our families, faith & excursions. Haven’t been able to visit due to health problems, but spoke on phone occasionally & Christmas cards for catching up. Our hearts & prayers are with their huge family. God bless all of you.

Love you sooooo much. I will forever miss that smile. Always fills me with peace and joy. Rest in the love of the huge beautiful clan that you created.

James's Obituary

In loving memory of James J. Catrambone

On October 4, 2023, Jim Catrambone, age 91, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord, while surrounded by his family. Jim was an active member of the New London community and Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Jim experienced wonderful growing-up years with his Mother Jennie, Father Nick, and siblings: Marion, John, and Ann-Marie. He deeply loved God and emanated a free spirit that enabled him to explore, adventure, and experience many diverse paths. His education and career included attending Seton Hall Prep School, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Seton Hall University, and his Master of Business Administration from Boston College. He was a Captain in the Marine Corps serving in the Korean War, a Vice President at CBS Labs, a co-founder of Cannondale Corporation, a management consultant, an entrepreneur, and a Professor at Connecticut State Community College. Jim enjoyed his lifelong commitment to community service, competitive sports, landscaping, and his active prayer group.

Jim is predeceased by his first wife Betty (Collins) Catrambone of 8 years. During their loving and endearing time, they had five children: Kathleen, their first child who only lived a few months after birth. Then came the joyous gifts of Mark, Mary, Kathy, and Jim Jr.

Jim later met and married Joyce (Mears) Catrambone and the family grew with the birth of Patty, who became the “ribbon” that tied the family together. Joyce passed away last summer after 57 years of marriage together.

Jim’s greatest gift in life was his immense dedication to his family. He is survived by his Children: Mark and wife Pam, daughter, Mary; daughter, Kathy; son, Jimmy and wife Simone, and daughter Patty and husband Rich. His Grandchildren: Jennie and husband Tom, Julie, Katie, Christopher, Kari, Jessica, Reilly, Hailey, Mike, Farah, Grace, Francie, Megan, Molly, Liz and Kwaundel, Annie and husband Wes, Kelly, Marion and husband Branton, Jimmy III and wife Laura, Frank, Valerie, Kim, Luca, Holden (2004-2005), Gordon and Rowan. His Great-Grandchildren: Kierra, Hailey, Rose, Joseph, Magnolia, Malakai, Blake, Eli, Benjamin, Valerie, Siena, Eve, Ada Gray, Noah, Addison, Vida, Kai, and Angelo. They will all miss him but know that his unconditional love for them will live on in their hearts forever.
