Mr. James David Cochran, Sr., age 66, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at his residence.
Mr. Cochran was born in Trion, GA on March 4, 1950, son of the late Ella Mae Cochran Hunter. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Lifefoam Industries here in Rome.
Survivors include his wife, the former Clara Joan Mantooth, to whom he was married on March 9, 1968; 5 children, Pamela Ann Cochran, and her partner, Beverly Hanners, Rome, Kimberly Elaine Howard, and her husband, Danny, Rome, Tammy Joanette Poe, and her husband, Houston, Dalton, James David Cochran, Jr., and his companion, Star Mulkey, Rome, and Katie Mae Cochran, and her partner, Shane Williams, Rome; 11 grandchildren, Rebekah Howard, Kiersten AnnaBrooke Tuggle, Alea Donaldson, BreAnna Donaldson, Isaiah Cochran, Jerimiah Cochran, Brayden Tuggle, Alexis Mulkey, Cheyenne Cochran, Matthew Howard, and Hayden Poe; 2 brothers, John Hunter, Rome, and Edward Hunter, Centre, AL; sister-in-law, Judy Elaine Melton, Rome; 2 brothers-in-law, Richard Mantooth, Silver Creek, and Joe Mantooth, Oglethorpe, GA; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday evening from 4 until 7pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday at 1:30pm and include: Mike Mantooth, Danny Howard, Jamie Dotson, Josh Mantooth, Shane Williams, Brannon Hight, Harley Clark, and John Mantooth.
