What a wonderful dancing machine he was to work with. He always kept us laughing and kept our heads up when ever we was feeling down. He will be missed by many. God has gained a angel that will keep everyone in heaven laughing at all times RIP Huckelbuck!!!

James A. (Hucklebuck) Crowder Sr., 64 of Hollins, VA, left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Saturday, May 3, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Hollins. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. Robert V. and Gertie L. Crowder Sr; his son, James A. (Little Huck) Crowder Jr. brother, Mr. Robert V. Crowder Jr.; and sister, Shirley A. Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kellye Crowder, Roanoke Va, his devoted sisters, Mary Adeoti, Evelyn Brown, of Hollins and Norma Anderson, Salem VA., a brother, James (Jimmy) (Delores) Anderson, of Roanoke Va.; sister-in-law, Joyce A. Crowder, of Roanoke, VA; A loving devoted special friend and caregiver, Alice Bryant, of Salem, VA. three aunts: Alice Garrison, Emma Richie, and Lillie Vineyard, all of Hollins; A special adopted granddaughter, Alayna Jordan who he loved dearly. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at First Baptist Church Hollins. Interment will be at First Baptist Church Hollins Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from noon until 4 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home and viewing will resume at 5 p.m. at the Church.
