Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I have such fond memories of him playing softball in the mechanics league with Gary and Walt. They are all playing in heaven I'm sure. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.

So sad to hear of Jim's passing. He was such a kind and caring man, helping anyone he could. His strength has been surreal these last few years. My deepest condolences to Della, and all of his loved ones. He will be missed by many

I worked with Jim at Dealmaker Honda until I retired in 2010. He was so pleasant to work with and then he was our service manager for our Ford Escape and he always gave us the best of care. You will be so missed.

Yes, you were a wonderful person. A family person and lots of fun to be around

Jimmy was a very important part of my early career. He was like a father to me. Always lending an ear, offering advice and celebrating accomplishments. Truly a man of integrity, loyalty and hard work. May he rest in eternal peace.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Adela, Timmy and the entire family, I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. May he Rest in Eternal Paradise.

Mr. Dick was a neighbor on Route 232 until he moved. Very nice. Sorry for your loss

WATERTOWN, NY – James V. Dick, Jr., 79, of South Hamilton Street, passed away on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at home.

A Celebration-of-Life gathering will be held at a later date.

Jim was born on September 5, 1946, in Watertown, son of the late James Dick, Sr. and Betty (Brooks) Dick.

He was very much a people person. He could meet someone and talk to them like they were lifelong friends, and he would do anything for his friends.

He was an avid Yankees fan and Syracuse sports, Buffalo Bills, and NY Giants fan. He loved golfing and enjoyed playing slot machines and reading sports biographies.

During the Vietnam era, Jim was stationed in Berlin, Germany where he guarded Rudolf Hess at Spandau Prison. Hess was a close associate and friend of Hitler. Jim was proud of guarding this infamous man. After his 2 years of active service, he served in the reserves for 6 more years. He was a lifetime member of the Adams Post 586 and a member of the Adams VFW 5344.

In 1982, he married Adella Youngs Marshall.

For most of his life, Jim worked in the auto business, mostly as a service manager. He retired from Davidson Chevy after 20 plus years of employment. His work ethic was undeniable. He won several nationwide competitions for his customer satisfaction endeavors.

Jim was a kind and loving man. His family was everything to him. He treasured all the time they spent together reminiscing about the good old days. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Adella; two daughters, Julie (Tim) Covey of Carthage and Abrianna (Alex Parker) Reed of Watertown, his stepson Timothy (Kim) Marshall, Carthage; one grandson, Christopher (Kelsie) Dick of Copenhagen; two great-grandsons, Liam Dick and Brayson Dick; two brothers, Peter Dick of Watertown and Bob (Dawn) Dick of Henderson Harbor; two sisters, Patricia Creighton of Mannsville and Cathy (Rod) Morenus of Belleville; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
