Weatherhead Young Funeral Home - 885 Mantoloking Rd. Brick, NJ 08723

James Francis “Jimmy” Dwyer, age 35, of Raritan, NJ passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at his home. Born in Livingston, NJ, he was raised in Carteret and lived in Toms River before moving to Raritan. He was a 2008 graduate of Toms River North High School before being employed for many years as a Mechanic and Welder with Pierce Eagle in Branchburg, NJ. Jimmy found joy in the ocean. With Surfing, fishing and crabbing being both a passion and a sanctuary. Equally at home with sparks flying in the workshop, he was a talented welder who took pride in his craft. Known for his extreme personality, boundless energy and magnetic charm, Jimmy had a gift for making every gathering brighter. He was always the life of the party, quick with a laugh and generous with his love. To know Jimmy, was to know someone who loved with his whole heart. His memory will live on, not only through the family he held so dear but also in the waves he rode, the friendships he forged and the countless moments he made unforgettable.

Jimmy...you quickly became much more than a next door neighbor...I feel honored to have known you as a good friend. You were a bright light no matter where you were. I always enjoyed watching you walk down to the river with your fishing pole and headphones on..you were in your element..in your zone. Not to mention you were beyond handsome...kind...funny ..and it was obvious how much you loved Tiffany. See you on the other side brother. You are truly missed.

I hung out with Jimmy quite a bit the summer of 2009 after I graduated high school. He was a year older than me at North. I would mostly see him at parties with my friends from Silverton. For whatever reason, Jimmy was just one of those guys that I’d often end up talking to a lot at the parties. To be honest, we didn’t have a whole lot in common but we just got along. When I close my eyes I can picture him standing in front of me with a black t shirt with the sleeves cut off, his warm smiling grin, his lips curled up in the corners of his mouth, and his eyes perched down looking into mine as we spoke about god knows what. He had a natural warmth and protectiveness about him. Just felt safe around the guy. Hanging with him felt like hanging out with an older brother. He was always nice to me. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Sorry for your loss. Rest in Peace Jimmy.
