James Francis “Jimmy” Dwyer, age 35, of Raritan, NJ passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at his home. Born in Livingston, NJ, he was raised in Carteret and lived in Toms River before moving to Raritan. He was a 2008 graduate of Toms River North High School before being employed for many years as a Mechanic and Welder with Pierce Eagle in Branchburg, NJ. Jimmy found joy in the ocean. With Surfing, fishing and crabbing being both a passion and a sanctuary. Equally at home with sparks flying in the workshop, he was a talented welder who took pride in his craft. Known for his extreme personality, boundless energy and magnetic charm, Jimmy had a gift for making every gathering brighter. He was always the life of the party, quick with a laugh and generous with his love. To know Jimmy, was to know someone who loved with his whole heart. His memory will live on, not only through the family he held so dear but also in the waves he rode, the friendships he forged and the countless moments he made unforgettable.
He was predeceased by his father, James F. Dwyer in 2024. He is survived by his beloved son, Lucas Johnson of Pascagoula, MI; his loving mother, Jody Elizabeth Izzo and her husband, Al of Mooresville, NC; his girlfriend, Tiffany Karcher of Raritan; his sister, Ashley E. Caldas and her husband, Mark of Brick; his step-brother, Brian Izzo of Colorado; his step-sister, Katie Sadler of North Carolina; two nieces, Aubrey and Addison; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Friends may attend a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, October 4th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home – 885 Mantoloking Rd. Brick, NJ 08723. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
