JAMES's Obituary

James “Jim” Eaton, 74, Sturgeon Lake, died peacefully after a two-year battle with cancer with his cat, Bud, by his side and his Christmas lights on in his yard.  Jim was born on March 31, 1951 in Moose Lake to Henry and Lena Eaton.  He attended school in Sturgeon Lake, Kerrick, and Askov.  Jim helped on the family farm until joining the Army where he served in Vietnam.  After the service, Jim worked construction though the years whether it was helping build I-35 or burying cable for Wright’s Construction.  For many years, Jim logged in the area. He also worked for Horton’s Sawmill.  Later in life, he worked for L & L Sales in Sturgeon Lake.  Jim married Sandra Westerberg on August 5, 2006 in Rutledge.  He loved hunting, fishing, agate picking, working in his flower beds, woodworking, singing karaoke, and spending time with his grandkids.  One of Jim’s passion in life was his annual Christmas light display at his home in Sturgeon Lake which he was extremely proud of.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Lena (Neumeyer) Eaton; siblings: Gordy Eaton, Darrell Eaton, Donna Kline, Darlene Eaton, and David Eaton.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Sandra “Sandy” Eaton; Sons: Chad (Bonnie) Miller, Jeremy (Teresa) Eaton, Matthew Westerberg, Austin Eaton Westerberg, and Travis Eaton Westerberg; Daughters: Heidi (Darin) Holmgren, Sam (John) Williams, Kim (Jeff) Kukuk; Grandchildren: Ryan Vogel, Tanner Mikrot, Avery Kosloski, Sydney Eaton, Dallis Kukuk, Paxton Vogel, Maci Kukuk, Colton Peterson, Maxon Williams, and Ryker Williams; Great Grandson: Timmy Zaudtke; Brothers: Bob (Judy) Eaton, LeRoy (Terri) Eaton, Dale Eaton, and Bill (Debbie) Eaton; Sisters: Debbie Eaton, Ruth (Stan) Kwapick, and Joy Connor; sister-in-law: Tonya Eaton; numerous nieces and nephews; and many Westerberg In-Laws.
