Aunt Cherie, Nana and Markie. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Jimmy. Words cannot express how saddened I am for you all. I know how much he loved his family (and his kitties). So many fond memories have come flooding back about my childhood summers and I can’t help but smile thinking about how funny he was just being himself. One in particular was how he was always watering the driveway at 18A. Who waters their driveway? Jimmy Eddy!!! Love you all and love you Uncle Jimmy....

We all loved Jimmy, he was a gentle giant We always had so much fun at auctions with him and Cherie.. Yes the man with the big hands could fix anything and loved every minute of it. He had such a fun sense of humor. True, his family was everything to him. We could always count on Jimmy Eddy for anything. I love you Jimmy and will never forget you. Thank you for always making us feel like part of the family.. We will meet again Sue

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and Granddaddy James E. Eddy Jr., 83, of Midlothian, Virginia on May 23rd, 2023. Jim was born on February 15, 1940 and grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and Silver Spring, Maryland where he graduated from Wheaton High School. He went on to attend the University of Maryland, where he played football and joined Sigma Nu fraternity. Jim was an avid car and boat enthusiast. He could fix or rebuild almost anything. He knew almost every Jimmy Buffett song, as well as anything by The Beach Boys. Music and playing the guitar were hobbies for Jim. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends and he was always the biggest fan at any event for one of his children or grandchildren. We will miss him every single day.
He is predeceased by his father, James E. Eddy, Sr., his mother, Juanita Jacobs and his sister, Donna Adams. Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Cherie Eddy, his children Mary Beth Lenertz (Greg) and Mark Eddy (Chelsea). Jim’s pride and joy was spending time with his six grandchildren: McKenna, Brooke, Allie, Jenson, Collins and Emmie.
A viewing and service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg VA 20176 on Friday, June 2nd beginning at 12:00 p.m. with burial at Union Cemetery. We will celebrate his life with a reception following the burial at Foxridge Park 525 Catoctin Circle SW, Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
