James Ray Evans, Sr.

James Ray Evans, Sr.. passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his home. He was born in Hampton, Va. and was the son of the late Davis Ray & Mary Firth Evans. He was a welder for over 52 years and was a member of Saluda Baptist Church.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Charles Evans, granddaughter Heavenly Hope, and is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Evans, children Jamie, Amanda, Josh, Jennifer, and Tina, brothers David Lynn Evans and June Firth, sister-in-law Donna Evans, niece Cori Thornton, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 6-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
