James Franklin Howard, Jr., 73, of Doerun, Ga., died Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ray Jenkins and the Rev. Julian Griner.
Born September 16, 1943 in Moultrie, Ga., he was the son of the late James Franklin Howard, Sr. and Gladys Beatrice Greer Howard. He was a United States Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Howard retired from the Colquitt County Board of Education as a school bus driver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Howard.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy DeWayne Howard, Timothy Wade Howard and Kerry Todd Howard all of Moultrie, Ga.; daughter, Donna Sue Howard Perez of Moultrie, Ga.; six grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Howard, Justin Shane Howard, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Melissa Ann Howard, Anna Marie Howard and Alexander Howard; thirteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sheila Lash of Leesburg, Ga., Sherra Craig of Moultrie, Ga., Jackie English of Ellaville, Ga., June Harden of Leesburg, Ga. and Regina Horne of Americus, Ga.; four brothers, Rickie Howard of Albany, Ga., Barry Howard of Americus, Ga., Randall Howard of Ochlocknee, Ga. and Chris Howard of Sylvester, Ga.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM -2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
