He was born February 24, 1940, on the family farm and was the son of Rudell G. and Sara A. (Shook) Harriger.

Duane married the love of his life, Lana Beabout Harriger on September 14, 1996 and she survives.

He was a member of the former Lions Club in Sligo. He was also an Elder in his past churches that he attended.

In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, going to flea markets, tractor/car shows, as with visiting with neighbors, friends, and family, especially his grandchildren. He had a deep appreciation for his family history and sharing stories with all.

Family meant everything to Duane, and was lovingly known as the Drut and Pa.
