James Hilton, Jr.

James Hilton, Jr. , 91, of New Castle, passed away March 30, 2018, at his residence.

Born December 8, 1926, in New Castle, he was the son of the late James H. and Dessi Rickard Hilton. He married Caroline J. Anderson Hilton in 1967.  She survives at home.

Mr. Hilton was in the United States Army where he served in WWII. James' passion in life was flying.  He owned his own plane and was employed as a pilot.

Along with his wife, James is survived by one daughter; Ember McCracken of Spartanburg, South Carolina, three sons; James (Rebecca) Hilton III and Clement J. Hilton, both of New Castle, Pa.,  Lester (Linda) McCracken of Edinboro Pa., one daughter-in-law; Karen Hilton, 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Gertrude Hilton, two sons; Gary and Eugene Hilton, and two daughters-in-law; Bette Hilton and Susan Harding.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 4:00 - 5:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place immediately following visitation at 5:00 PM with James' grandson Gary L. Hilton, Jr. officiating.

Interment will be at Graceland Mausoleum.
