Not sure what to say?

I feel like I know you, Jimmy, through the many “Jimmy Howard stories” my father told me over the years—like when an Ithaca Bomber Athletic Scholarship meant you got to bunk in the Ithaca fire house on the condition that you fought firesin addition to going to class, playing ball, and wrestling. My favorite is when you put the fire out of a burning building and the hook & ladder pulled away leaving the two of you stranded alone on the roof. The other is when you drenched the Cornell Crew...

Jim you will be dearly missed and I will always remember your famous quote, “keep having fun”. You were an awesome boss and personal friend. May you rest in peace my friend

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

So sorry for your loss, My prayers for the Howard family. Always was a pleasure talking to Coach, and will always remember him with a Smile.

So very sorry to hear about "Coach" - we always got together with him when he visited here in Myrtle Beach. Our condolences to the family and friends.

Jim and Barbara Howard are certainly among the many treasures OSU and the city of Oswego were fortunate to have.
Jim was my colleague and friend throughout my tenure at OSU and the wonderful memories will be with me always. I had the pleasure of serving with Jim on several campus committees that included several years on the Public Ceremonies Committee with Jim as Chairperson. His organization made each event center stage while the committee membership remained basically unnoticed.

He was a very good friend and taught me what real college wrestling was about...not the wrestling you saw on TV. He also helped me as chair of the chemistry department during commencement, lining up the students, etc. He will be remembered for his many valuable contributions to SUNY Oswego.
