Sorry to hear about the passing of Jay, so many memories on Memows porch on Sunday for dinner when I first married into the Carrico family..lots of changes but memories stay forever I know Janie was happy to welcome you home !!!!

Praying for the family during this difficult time. Jay was a hoot and always had a great attitude towards life. He will surely be missed.

DID NOT NO MUCH ABOUT JAY but what i did no i liked . may GOD wipe away all tears . we trust in his word and his book that everything is o k ... prayinf for you all

Virgil, I am very sorry for your loss. Always had great discussions with Jay when you worked in Wythe. If you need anything let me know.

James (Jay)'s Obituary

 

James Stephen Moore known as Jay Moore age 48 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, July 14, 2025 in Galax, Virginia.

Jay was born on April 24, 1977 in Galax Virginia to Virgil and Jane Carrico Moore.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his son and special friend William Wyatt Moore and Mallory Lundy; father and step-mother Virgil and Louise Moore; brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Christy Moore; two nephews Colby and Carter Moore all of Fries, Virginia; special cousin Tracy Stanley; several aunts, uncles; cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Turkey Knob Church with the Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Turkey Knob Church.
