James "Jim"'s Obituaries

James L. "Jim" Bratton, age 85 of Williamsport, IN went to be with the Lord at 6:17 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN.Jim was born in Attica, IN on March 17, 1930. He was the son of the late William C. and Priscilla A. (Brannon) Bratton. He graduated from Williamsport High School and was a Warren County resident most of his life living in Williamsport since 1957. He married Beverly J. Ritter in 1957 and they later divorced.Jim was a member of the Indiana National Guard. He worked for Alcoa retiring in 1985 and also had a saw sharpening business at his home. He was an active member of the Williamsport Christian Church where he taught Jr. High boys Sunday School and served as an elder and deacon. He enjoyed doing woodworking and hunting and was an all around handy man. He was also a leader for Boy Scout Troop #45 and a gun enthusiast. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.Jim leaves behind, 2 daughters, Jackie Holtkamp (Rick) of Attica, IN and Mary Kay Bratton of Orlando, FL; their mother, Beverly Ritter Miles (Don) of Williamsport, IN; 1 sister, Shirley Felix (Russell) of Leesburg, FL; and 1 granddaughter, Jessica Rae of Attica, IN. Jim was preceded in death by 1 son, James Michael Bratton, brothers, Joe, Ted, Dwayne, Bob and David, infant brother and infant sister.Visitation will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
