James "Jim"'s Obituary

James “Jim” E. Molnar, 67, of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Avalon Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton after a courageous 7 month battle that he bravely fought.  Born and raised in Metuchen, NJ,  Jim later resided in Chesterfield and moved to Allentown two years ago with the love of his life, Maragret, whom he married in October of 1997. Jim acquired several certifications from different vocational and technical institutes and worked as an electroplater with Vanguard Industries in South Plainfield for many years.

The proud son of a World War II veteran, Jim was a history buff who loved politics, museums and JFK. His love for antique cars brought him to many car shows and his passion was reflected in the many model cars he built. Jim loved the holidays, but his favorite was Christmas.

Son of the late Ignatius and Dorothy Schurig, Jim was predeceased by his brother William Molnar and his in-laws, William and Marilyn Duthie. He survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Margaret, whom he adored; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Jerome Balazse of South Plainfield and Betty and Tom Stanford of North Carolina; his sister-in-law, Sharon Molnar of South Plainfield, many loving nieces and nephews, his faithful labrador, Sandy and the entire Duthie family. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 11th at St. John the Baptist Church, 1282 Yardville Allentown Rd., Allentown. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 10 am until the time of service outside church or enter the church for quiet prayer and reflection.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to St. John The Baptist Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd. Allentown, NJ 08501

Arrangements made under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
