James “Jim” William Reisenbeck, 73, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, passed away at Frankfort Regional Medical Center on September 1, 2025.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, Jim spent much of his life in northern Kentucky before later making Lawrenceburg his home. A hardworking and dedicated father, Jim drove for the Transit Authority of Northern KY and retired after 20 years of service.
He was a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan, proudly attending their first-ever game. Even in his final days, he kept his sense of humor, joking, “They better not win the Super Bowl this season after I’ve waited 56 years for it to happen!”
Jim was compassionate by nature and found true connection in caring for his many rescue animals. His greatest passion was horse racing, and he was an accomplished horseman who worked throughout his life as a groom, trainer, breeder, and foaling manager.
He is survived by his three children, Stephen West, Christopher Reisenbeck (Carrie), and Reva Reisenbeck (Jenny); his grandchildren, Wade West and Rowan Reisenbeck; and his siblings, Jane Reisenbeck and Julie Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Abney Reisenbeck; his parents, Jerome “Jerry” and Rita Reisenbeck; and his sister, Janet Gordon.
In keeping with his wishes, Jim will be cremated, and no services are scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jim to Old Friends Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky https://www.paypal.com/US/fundraiser/charity/17424
Arrangements are entrusted to Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.ritchieandpeach.com.
