James "Jimmy"'s Obituary

James Emmett Akers Jr. better known as Jimmy Akers age 57 of Marion, South Carolina passed away Thursday December 29, 2022.

Jimmy was born in Fries, Virginia on December 22, 1965, to James Emmett Akers, Sr. and Violet Louise Jones Akers. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Johnathan Eric Akers; maternal grandparents Everett and Annie Jones; paternal grandparents Lee and Mae Akers; uncle and aunt Bobby and Charlotte Jones.

He is survived by his mother Violet Jones Akers of Marion, South Carolina; three sons James Emmett Akers III; William Alexander Akers both of Burnsville, North Carolina; Matthew Akers of Marion, South Carolina;  nieces and nephew Erica Louise Crookshanks; Johnathan Eric Akers, Jr. “Johnny”; Ashley Lynn Akers; grandnieces Heaven Crookshanks; Hayden Akers and Lucy Walls; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 2;00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Matthew Adams officiating. Entombment will follow in the Monta Vista Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
