Sorry to hear of Junior's passing. Watching the memorial video sure brought back a lot of memories of Ruth, Paulette, Terry, Mark and Crickett,Junior and times on the river, and the farm. People grow apart in their own lives, but memories last forever. My condolences Bruce.

Bruce and Brenda and family. So sorry for the loss. Prater, as I always referred to him, had been a friend and coworker for 48 years. I will miss his friendship. May God hold you in his embrace during this sad time.

James's Obituary

James B. Prater, Jr., 85, of Hamden, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 7, 1928, in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late James B., Sr. and Essalona Allen Prater. James was married for 60 years to the late Ruth Allman Prater.He was a member of the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279.He is survived by a son, Bruce (Brenda) Prater of Hamden; grandchildren, Essalona Keller, Aaron (Jessica) Prater and Corey (Nichole) Clevinger; great grandchildren, Darrick, Tyra and Lealand Prater, Dylan and Abbigail Keller, Kaelyn, Kinsey and Kyson Clevinger and Ethan Perry.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paulette Hensler; a grandson, Mark Hensler Prater; a granddaughter, Bridgett Prater; a son-in-law, Terry Hensler.Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Minister Danny Minton officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.
