To My extended Family: There will come a time when mourning will become gladness and comfort will become joy because Uncle James has entered the pearly gates of Heaven. He is more healthy and free than he ever was because the Lord has given him eternal life. I pray with you in spirit that God will continue to watch over you, comfort you, and provide you with peace and strength through these difficult times. Elder James Rock Jr., 68, of Spotsylvania, VA, quietly departed this life on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.James was retired from Printpak, Inc. in Fredericksburg, VA. He was the Pastor of New Jerusalem Church of Christ in Fredericksburg, VA.James leaves to cherish his life a devoted wife, Joyce Rock; two sons, James Rock III and Anthony Rock; two daughters, Angela Nicholas and Melissa Faison; two brothers, Royce Rock and Darnell Rock; three sisters, Alice Smith, Tawana Rock, and Sheila Rock; 3 daughter-in-laws; 2 son-in-laws; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Rock Sr.Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, VA. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Temple of Deliverance HCG, 5756 Zachary Taylor Hwy, Mineral, VA with a viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Elder James Dudley, Eulogist, with Elder Lynn Beanum officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
