James A Shields Sr.

James A. Shields Sr., 74, of Route 6, Corry, Pa., died on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born on July 14, 1941, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Arthur and Mary Jane Barrone Shields. Jim was raised and educated in Corry, Pa.. As a young man, Jim worked for several local businesses. Then he became a independent long haul truck driver for over 20 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son James A. Shields Jr., and a brother John Shields. Jim is survived by his wife Valerie L. Carter Shields, whom he married on July 14, 1999 in Union City, Pa.; a daughter Shelly Morton of Corry, Pa.; a step daughter Chantal Nichols of Corry, Pa.; a step son Rick Barr and his wife Jill of DuBois, Pa.; a sister Elvira Mestic of Painesville, OH., and a brother Joseph Shields of Austin, TX. Also by three grandchildren; Brandon and Garrett Shields of Corry, Pa. and Tiarra Shields of Virginia Beach, VA.; a great granddaughter Saige Shields and several nieces and nephews.
