Jr. and the extended Stamper family. It is a day of sorrow, and a time to rejoice. Sorrow in that they are no longer with you and the rejoicing in that he is at peace and re-united with all the love one's that left ahead of Mr. Stamper, and most importantly he is with his Savior. Your in thoughts always.

To James Jr. and family, so sorry to have read at this late date of your father's passing. The importance of a father is truly appreciated more so than after their gone, I hope the faith will sustain you all and keep the memories alive.

Dad , Thank you for then and Thank you for now....you have taught me more than you thought or even I thought and now the faith that you had will stay with me and my family, Thank you! Tell Grandma Stamper thank you for her visit ( butterfly that followed me around). Also, the comforting signs , music I hear, watching over your Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren .Thank you! Love to all in Heaven!

James W. Stamper, Sr. age 90, of Fairview Heights, IL, born August 18, 1925 in Fancy Farm, KY died on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Stamper was a heavy equipment operator for McDonnell-Douglas, St. Louis, MO for 34 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers as well as Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL. He was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Edward Stamper; his first wife, Rachel Janeth Hayden Stamper, who died in 1954; his parents, Samuel Wallace and Mary Magdalene, nee Hayden, Stamper; his four brothers, Robert Stamper, Rome Stamper, Riley Stamper, and Joseph Howard Stamper; and his six sisters, Marie Elliot, Maureen Reiffer, Laureen Hayden, Theresa McClure, Rosenell Rowe, and infant, Opal Stamper.Surviving are his wife, Mary Henrietta, nee Toon, Stamper; his 10 children, James W. Stamper, Jr. of Belleville, IL, Virginia (Michael) Thompson of O?Fallon, IL, Barb (Blaine) Baker of Collinsville, IL, Shirley (Tom) Speichinger of Belleville, IL, John "Tony" Stamper of Fairview Heights, IL, Carol (Chad) Hern of Red Bud, IL, Robert "Bobby" (Susie) Stamper of Troy, IL, Marilyn (Harvey) Lewallen of Belleville, IL, Cecilia (Eric) Forguson of Mascoutah, IL, and Joanna Diaz of Shiloh, IL; his 29 grandchildren; his 26 great grandchildren; and his sister, Juanita Hutchins of Mayfield, KY.
