James A. Wethington

James Alvert Wethington, 63, formerly of Jamestown, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Glasswater Creek of Whitestown, Indiana. He was born September 2, 1961, in Lebanon, the son of the late James Alverd and Sally Jane (Williams) Wethington.

James attended Western Boone High School. He worked at the Indiana Packers Plant in Delphi and for Tom Woods Automotive in Indianapolis in the parts department for about 10 years.

He attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Jamestown. James enjoyed fishing and socializing with friends and family. He particularly loved spending time with his granddaughter and nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his children, Lisa Birstler of Lebanon and James A. “Jim” Wethington of Arkansas; granddaughter, Marie “Dixie” Matthews of Lebanon; sisters, Melinda J. Kurasiewicz, Beverly A. (Edmond) Vest, and Lucy J. Perry all of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
