James White, Sr.
James White, Sr., age 85 was born on August 4, 1939, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was born in Houma, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. James served his country in the United States Navy and later retired from Delta Shipyard. James was the loving father of James White, Jr. (Keione) and Jennifer White McKnight. Beloved brother of Joseph, Jr., Napoleon, Roland White, Sadie W. Dennis, Betty W. Ray, and Mary Ann Williams. He was also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph White, Sr. and Albertha Prevost White; his siblings Charles, Gwendolyn White, and Bernadine Miles; his grandson James Jones; and his grandparents Levi and Sadie Page Prevost, Charlie and Mary Porche White. A Private Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell LA 70460 at 11:00 a.m. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bayside Nursing Home and the Medical Professionals at Ochsner Hospital for their exceptional care and support during our love one time there.
