James's Obituary
James M "Woody" Wood Jr. 72, of Benld, IL, died at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 5:18 am. He was born April 14, 1945, in Redmon, IL to James M Wood Sr & Waneta (Reichert) Wood. He married Shirley (Osborn) Wood. He was a retired after having been a coal miner for Monterey Coal Co for 32 years. He was a veteran of the US Army after having served during Vietnam. James was a member of the VFW Post 4547 of Gillespie, IL and UMWA Local 1613 . He is survived by his spouse, Shirley Wood of Benld, IL, children, Debra Jones of Herrick, IL, Forrest Wood of Nokomis, IL, James Michael Wood (Michelle) of Blaine, MN, grandchildren, Jerad, Jacob, Josh, Ashley, Ryker, Rylee, Ryon, Kaysen, brother, Keith (Judy) Wood of Irving, IL and sister, Maurica Manley. A celebration of life will be held at the Benld City Park on August 5, 2017. Anyone wishing to send an online condolence may do so at www.kravanyafuneral.com.
