Thoughts and Prayers to Toney, Joann and Janets entire family ......glad I got to share a meal and a bottle of wine with you and your son Toney while I was visiting this past spring reminiscing on good times and the great life you lived ...RIP Janet, you will surely be missed but never forgotten.

Condolences to Tony and Joann for the loss of your mother. Sure do miss my big sister but will always remember the good times we shared. In my heart always and now at peace.

I worked with Janet as a staff nurse and assistant head nurse on the orthopedic unit. I learned a lot from her. I remember the gatherings she had at her house that were always a good time for the staff.
My condolences to all the family.

Janet's Obituary

Janet Louise Ifkovits, 85 of Northampton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 6, 2025 surrounded by her family at home. Born on July 15, 1940 in Nazareth, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Verna (Vogel) Kurtz. Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband Anthony “Tony” in 2016. Janet graduated from Nazareth High School in 1958. She was a graduate from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1961. Over the years she was employed as a registered nurse for various healthcare facilities throughout the area. She was a former head nurse of orthopedics and case management at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown from 1974-2012. Faith was an integral part of her life. She was a member of Queenship of Mary where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer for church events. She loved to read and travel; she was generous to all she met. She was devoted to God, her family, children and grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her son, Anthony “Tony”; daughter, Joann Seier and husband Alfred; grandchildren, Kyle, Justine and husband Mark Muhlenberg, Jonathan, Michael; sisters, Barbara Brown and husband George, Roseanne Abel and husband Bob and several nieces and nephews.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 8th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Burial will be at the parish cemetery followed by lunch at the Northampton Community Center. There will be no calling hours. Online condolences may be offered below.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Northampton Public Library in loving memory of Janet.
