Janet L. Meyer (nee Thomas) passed away peacefully on Friday October 17th, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born October 11, 1935, to the late Geneva and Carl Thomas, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Janet was the beloved wife of Raymond J. Meyer for 68 years; loving mother of Raymond J. Meyer, Jr, Karen Meyer-Yoder (Mark Yoder), and Ronald J. Meyer (Martha Gooding); cherished grandmother of Adam Meyer (Larissa), Conner Meyer (Ellie), Brittany Speed (Sean), Maxwell Yoder (Natalie), Katie Yoder, and the late Zachary Meyer; treasured great-grandmother of Peyton, Malia, Nathaniel, R.J., and Sophia; dear sister of Patricia Middleton (the late George), and the late: Carl Thomas (Betty), David Thomas (Winnie), and Richard Thomas (Debbie, living); and beloved aunt of Lisa Nusekabel, Amy Mazza, and numerous caring nieces and nephews.
For decades, Janet dedicated her life to the education of countless young minds. She spent 22 years of her career as a dedicated and beloved teacher at St. James School in White Oak where her classroom was more than just a place of learning, but a haven of curiosity and encouragement. After her retirement, Janet’s passion for learning turned to the wider world. She and her husband Ray enjoyed traveling together. They collected memories in not only all 50 states, but also many places abroad. Janet leaves behind a legacy of love and caring that will be remembered by all blessed enough to have known her.
Visitation in her honor will be held on Thursday, October 23rd from 9:00am-10:00am at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Rd. (45247). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Rd. (45247). Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Janet’s name to Queen City Hospice.
