Not sure what to say?

She was one of the most loving, kind, amazing, Godly people I have ever known. She inspired and served others on a level few could understand. Over the around 20 years we have been friends we have laughed, cried, prayed, cooked, played games, watched movies, served the homeless, and just loved enjoying each others company. There will forever be a hole in my heart that no one can fill. The mold was broken when God made Janet.

My Heart goes out to you and your family at this very difficult time. I pray that you will find peace and comfort in the memories you will have to carry you through this. It is truly those who are left that feel the loss, however I know your beautiful wife is enjoying eternity with her Savior and those who have went before her.

Hey Peaches, I love you more than you could ever know! I bet your new place is even more beautiful than even you could imagine. I can picture your dancing, singing and praising. Someone said that our world is a darker place now that your light went out and for us that know you that may be the case. However, I think the more the ones who know you talk about you, the "world" actually becomes a brighter place. Oh Stick, I long so much to sit on the edge of the bed, with you standing in front of...

I know lots of people claim to have the best mom ever, but I truly did. I love you more than words could ever express, mom. Thank you for being my mother for twenty-six amazing years. I know I didn't always make it easy, but you loved me regardless. Making you laugh was my favorite thing, watching movies, and just talking with you are up there too. You had the most beautiful and loving heart, I'm so thankful that you were my mom. Dad and I will be alright, just know one day we will be...

I came to know Janet through her church in Allen and later through our Prayer Group, which we call "The Overcomers" Believe me, Janet was indeed an Overcomer! It was through our Prayer Group I watched Janet grow in depth maturity, and boldness in the Lord. To write the impact she made on others would take a book the size of a Tom Clancy novel, but the greatest impact on me was the great and positive differences she made on my wife Barb. After my wife spent a few hours with Janet, mainly on...

It is hard to sum up in a few words the impact Janet had not only on my life, but the life of so many. I will miss her desperately, but know she is in Heaven and that makes me smile. She was my sister in Christ, dear friend, and prayer partner for many years. We did a lot together: enjoying the beauty and wonder of God's creation, walking, talking, praying, visiting others, volunteering together... Janet had such a heart for the Lord and His love flowed through her to anyone she met. Her...

She will be missed my prayers

Janet was literally a God-send in my life. Our Bible study started because of her thirst for God’s Word. She challenged me to dig deeper. Iron sharpens iron, that’s what she did for me. I will miss you my dear sister. You left a hole in our hearts that will be there for a very long time.

Janet, you are so loved. You have touched so many people with your smile, laughter and love for Jesus. You never knew a stranger and always loved talking about Jesus. I am going to miss you and the times we got to share and be with you, Pepper and Jarod. You are a true blessing to me my dear sweet friend. We love you, Pepper and Jarod so very much and will be praying peace and comfort for them. It’s never goodbye, it’s always until we meet again!

Obituary

Janet's Obituary

Janet Kay (Harris) Pitmon, 59, of Allen, Oklahoma, passed away in Oklahoma City on March 26, 2025.  The daughter of Jerome Luther Harris and Wanda Faye (Smoot) Harris, Janet was born on September 9, 1965, in Oklahoma City.

Janet graduated from Bethany Christian Academy and attended Midwest Christian College.  While at Midwest, Janet met Tina Pitmon who set her up on a blind date with her brother, Pepper.  Janet and Pepper were married on September 21, 1985.  After thirteen years of marriage, Janet and Pepper were blessed to adopt their newborn son, Jarod. Janet loved being a mother and homemaker.   Janet, Pepper and Jarod moved from the Bethany/OKC area to Allen eight and half years ago and have loved making their home there.  For the last year, Janet has driven her golf cart into town, sat on a bench, and held a sign that said, “Can I pray for you?”  Above everything, Janet loved the Lord with all her heart and cared for people.

Janet was a phenomenal gardener. While living in Bethany, she received the Yard of the Month award.  After moving to Allen, she transformed the yard and garden and would give away much of what she grew.  The family said she would often have people stop and ask who she used for landscaping and would want to hire her.    Janet also enjoyed reading and loved vacations with her family.  She especially liked the beaches and Colorado.   The sudden death of Janet will leave a void in her family and all who knew her.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Pat Pitmon; and brother-in-law, Wesley Pitmon.

She is survived by her loving  husband of 39 years, Pepper Pitmon; son, Jarod Pitmon both of Allen; sister, Queta Hopper and husband, Frank of Oklahoma City; father-in-law, Gene Pitmon of Blanchard; sisters-in-law, Tina Ediger and husband Marc of Oklahoma City and Stacey Pitmon of Blanchard; brother-in-law, Jimmy Pitmon and wife Sharon of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service for Janet will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at  Marketplace - Living Waters Church, 103 South Baltimore Street, Allen, OK.   Anyone who is willing and able to speak about Janet are invited to do so.  Arrangements under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home.  Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
