Mrs. Janice Marie Lane Dendy, 68, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1957, in Hot Springs, to her devoted parents, John Odis Lane Sr. and Bernice Lindsey Conway.
Janice was educated at the historic Langston School in Hot Springs, where she was an active member of the basketball team. Known for her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring nature, Janice touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She enjoyed music, dancing, and playing cards—especially spades, which she proudly claimed as her game. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes, and she loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren, tending to her plants, and hosting family gatherings. Her holiday get-togethers and backyard barbecues were always highlights for her loved ones.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Janice built her career in the hospitality industry, where her kindness, attention to detail, and warm personality left a lasting impression on countless guests. She took pride in her work and was admired for the care she put into everything she did.
Janice gave her life to Christ at an early age while attending Gethsemane Baptist Church in Hot Springs. She was a devoted member, serving faithfully as a deaconess, singing in the choir, and lending a helping hand wherever needed. Even as her health declined, her faith never wavered—she continued to read her Bible, praise God, and share her love for Him with others. She was preceded in death by her father, John Lane Sr.; her mother, Bernice Conway; her stepfather, Jeff Conway; her sister, Shirley Lane; and her brother-in-law, Grant Glover.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory her three sons: Denzial Lane (Mary), Chris Manning, Josh Coleman (Tionna); two daughters: Selena Mease and Andrea Moorehead (Jerry) all of Hot Springs; brothers: John Lane Jr. and Jake Conway; her sisters: Brenda Lane Glover and Frances Conway; her ten beloved grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Janice's honor at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Hot Springs. Family and friends may gather for visitation and viewing prior to the service, from 10:30 until 11:55 AM. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs. An online guestbook is available below for family and friends to share tributes and condolences. Brandon’s Mortuary is honored to serve the family with professional care.
