Not sure what to say?

Janna is the epitome of kindness, caring and fun. I aspire to be as good of a person as Janna. Her influence will always be a part of me. I am heartbroken for Mike, Haley, Hannah, and Hayden. My sincerest condolences to you, the rest of your family, friends and to everyone Janna touched with her amazing presence. Love you always Jake.

In the brief time I had the chance to work with Janna, I witnessed a dedicated, professional, and fierce advocate for everyone in our district. Fastidious and compassionate, Janna expected excellence from herself and fostered the same in those around her. We knew that she always had our back. Outside this professional legacy, I've had the privilege of knowing and working with her children for many years. They are some of the finest, kindest people I've met, a testament to their upbringing....

I am so sorry to hear of Janna's passing. We had worked together at Alton Central School. She trained me for the job I hold today in another district. She was always very meticulous in all she did. I loved her sewing creations for the plays that the students did. I was always in awe of her creativity with these costumes. She loved her family was an advocate for kids. She will be missed. Rest in peace.

Mike, Haley, Hannah and Hayden, We are so sorry to hear about Janna. We are all thinking of you at this difficult time.

Our sympathy is with you all

I had the pleasure of working with Janna for the past five years. But she was more than a colleague, she was a friend, a confidant, and one of my greatest champions. Janna pushed me to grow, encouraged me to take risks, and always made time to listen. I’ll miss her friendly telephone greeting: “Hey there, Mr. Carey!”

One of my earliest memories of Janna was during an school administrative retreat. In the middle of a friendly game of wiffle ball, she made a break for home plate....

It’s hard to put into words what Janna meant to those of us lucky enough to know her. She was the kind of friend you could count on without question—solid, present, and fiercely loyal. She never made a big deal about it, but she showed up. Every time.

Janna had a laugh you could hear across the room. Loud, real, and absolutely contagious. You couldn’t help but smile when she did She also had one of the sharpest minds I’ve ever known. Her intelligence was remarkable, but she never...

There are no words to express my deep sadness and sympathies to Mike, Haley, Hannah and Hayden. Janna’s passing is a heartbreak.
Janna leaves wonderful memories of love, kindness and humor to everyone who knew her. She loved her family so much.
I’ll miss Janna dearly
With all my love,
Maria and Jean-Pierre Czech

I am so sorry to hear about Janna’s passing. My deepest condolences to Mike, Haley, Hannah, Hayden and all her family and friends. I enjoyed all the years she was in the dugout when I coached baseball. I found it difficult managing the dugout without her support and toughness. Such a wonderful caring person to all who knew her.

Obituary

Janna's Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janna Lynn Mellon, who left this world unexpectedly on June 16, 2025. Born on April 13, 1969, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Janna brought kindness, laughter, and love to everyone she encountered.

Janna was a resident of Alton Bay for 22 years where she made her home with Michael, her husband of 33 years as well as their three children, Haley, Hannah and Hayden.

Janna graduated from UNH in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Much later in life while raising her kids and working full time for the Moultonborough school district, Janna returned to on-line classes in the evening and achieved her MBA through Wahington State University. One of her proudest achievements was completing the MBA and being able to walk in the Commencement with her classmates in 2018.

Janna was a full-time mother for 12 years but when she returned to the workforce, she knew she wanted to be in roles that helped children.  She worked for the Alton, Moultonborough, Farmington and finally, Newmarket school districts in increasing roles of responsibility. She achieved her goal in working as a school Business Administrator for the final 7 years of her career.

Janna will forever be remembered for her infectious laugh and her relentless assistance to anyone in need, especially children.  Her contributions to fundraising for the Alton Recreation League baseball/softball programs and costuming for the yearly Alton school play and later for Prospect Mountain HS drama program have left a profound mark on the lives of many kids who are now adults. Her boundless positive energy and can-do attitude are remembered by all who knew her.

Beyond her professional achievements, Janna was a beloved wife, mother and friend, always making family and friends the focus of her life. Whether it was creating new cocktails for get-togethers or the next crazy game for Quinn family summer Olympics, she was always looking for ways to make each instance memorable and filled with laughter. Those moments now live on as cherished memories for all who loved her.

Janna was predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Donna Blake and is mourned by her husband Michael, daughters Haley and Hannah, son Hayden, her brother Tim Blake and his wife Heidi, in-laws Tom and Cathy Mellon, Sherry and Shawn Lewis, Dawn and Bill Sweeney, nieces and nephews and numerous Quinn and Blake family cousins.

A celebration of Janna’s life will be held later.  All who wish to honor Janna by sharing their memories and expressing their gratitude for her life are warmly invited to attend once the date and location are announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to CASA New Hampshire, CASA NH Memorial Donation or the NH Humane Society,  NH Humane Society, both causes close to Janna’s heart.
