Javier Jamie Jr Guzman

Today with a heavy heart we share with the world that we lost an incredibly special person in our family. Javier Guzman began his journey past the heavenly gates where he will be embraced with the love, laughter, and warmth he gave to all those that have survived him.

Javier for those around him was a warm and kindhearted man. He often would seek to brighten the day of those around him. It did not matter if you were just waiting in line at the store or delivering his mail. He made it a point to let those around him know that he cared and valued their presence in his life - no matter how brief. For those of us considered family; we could not have dreamt up a better brother, uncle, grandfather, son and husband. He was everything and more for us. He would be your movie buddy, gardener, mechanic, cook, comedian, mentor, student, encouragement, motivation, shoulder, ear, rock, and voice of reason.

We are what’s left of Javier. We, his family, are now the embodiment of his memory, his stories, his laughter and love he poured into this world. We will carry out his love and warmth like ripples through water. Into every holiday, birthday, celebration, and sorrow. We will dance the vortex, we will light the dark skies of the fourth, we will be the bull in your China shop, we will show you 9/16ths, we will be your smoky bee, we will be your mister Miyagi, we will be your late night ride home, we will be your safe space, we will share in the laughter and smiles, we will donate with you, we will fix your car after its been sitting there for 10 years, we will love all the old ladies of the world, we will take the kids out so they aren’t cooped up in the house all day and most of all we will shoulder the pain of life with you. We will help you catch the breath that you feel has been taken from your lungs. We will help you find your footing when you fall.

We will bare our hearts and light the way through the darkness so that we may all come home. We will stand guard and remain vigilant until your demons have left.

Big brother, I know you do not like goodbyes, so I’ll see you later.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Brown officiating.
