Not sure what to say?

Jane, I was so sad when I heard of Jay's passing. I know you loved him so much as did many of his students and friends. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Jay but really only knew him when we were both young. I am Barbara Van Gorps sister. It was a pleasure to be with you both at Barbara's birthday party in Oct. My prayers and thoughts are with you now and in the future.

Jay and I grew up together as grade-school classmates at Washington School. As the son of a teacher in NJSD, I grew to appreciate and admire the selfless dedication that Jay made to his students and the community.

I too am heartbroken. Jay was a wonderful, soft soul; kind and considerate. My family and I will miss him.

Jane & Family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you and your families at this most difficult of times. While our paths seldom crossed since the 60's I know what a wonderful soul and friend Jay was to everyone he shared a moment in time with. My prayers and thoughts are with you and may the memories of Jay never leave your hearts.
God Bless , Chuck Wismer

Both of us appreciated Jay for his kindness and gentle nature as well as his wit and charm. He was so positive for so many. We wish you peace. We wish we could hug you in person.
Beth Spencer and Mark Peerenboom

You have my sincere condolences and will be in my prayers during the days ahead. May happy memories of the wonderful Jay comfort you.

Laneh Johnston

Jay remembering the days at Shattuck, our hopes and prayers are with your family and friends.

Jane and family,
May I extend my heartfelt sorrow and prayers for you. Jay was a terrific tennis player with a glorious attitude.

Jay was a great father and teacher who taught his peers and students many great life lessons. He will surely be missed. Our thoughts are with his family.
