Jean's Obituaries

Jean Steele Blankenship, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her residence in Troy, Missouri. She was born on May 31, 1934, in Fulton, Mississippi, to Ezra and Glendolen Grissom Steele. Jean retired from General Motors in 1999 after 21 years of dedicated service. She found joy in working in her yard and tending to her garden. However, her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness and pride to her life.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, October 8, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton. Burial will be in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Bradley Jay Johnson (Roberta); her sister, Anna Vogts of Virginia; six grandchildren, LaShay Rascher (Jeff), Joshua Johnson, Kristin Gebert (Craig), Kristina Anderson (Steve), Joey Blankenship (Kristina), and Brian Blankenship (Amy); ten great-grandchildren, Halie Johnson, Ciarra Johnson, Grace Rascher, Ashtin Gebert, Jewell Gebert, Katelyn Anderson, Ricky McCabe, Emma Anderson, Skyla Blankenship, and Kayleigh Blankenship; and one great-great-grandchild, Amara McGlasson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Blankenship; two brothers, James Steele and Glen Steele; five sisters, Clara Perry, Stella Russell, Ruth Justice, Millie Blan, Barbara Steele; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Robert Blan, Jeff Rascher, Ceaser Herrera, Steve Martinez, Ricky McCabe, Chandler South, and Jordan South.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
