Jean L. (Lannutti) Saylor, 82, went home to be with God, her husband, and her son on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Grand View Hospital. James "Jim" Harry Saylor, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 at their residenceThey both resided in Souderton, Pennsylvania and were both formerly of Norristown. They were also both born in Norristown.She was born to the late Peter Lannutti and the late Antoinette (Monnila) Lannutti. He was born to the late Paul Edward Saylor and the late Evelyn Elizabeth (Rigg) Saylor.They first met in Norristown High School at a basketball game, they later graduated; she was the class of 1954 and he was class of 1953. In 1960, they were married in Norristown.Jean worked as an x-ray technician for the former Dr. Gallianno in Norristown and then for Merck Sharp Dohme in West Point. She then worked as freight auditor for the former Dawson & Wilson in Lansdale, as a job counselor for Snelling & Snelling in Lansdale and lastly as a customer service representative for State Farm Insurance in Souderton, PA.Jim served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a former gravedigger at the Riverside Cemetery in Norristown. Jim used to pick up Jean, take her to the cemetery to finish his work, get paid and then take her out on a date. He worked as a machinist for Teleflex Inc. in North Wales, PA for more than 40 years. Jim then worked as a courier for the former Harleysville National Bank.She was member of the Pennridge FISH Organization, Inc. in Perkasie, PA, a 22 year member of the Sister Circle Support Group in Telford, PA, a member of the 700 Club since 1966, a member of the PTL Club since 1968, and volunteered at Grand View Hospice for 9 yearsHe was a member and volunteer of Great Swamp Fish & Game in Quakertown for 60 years where he taught hunter safety courses.They both were members of Immanuel Leidy's Church in Souderton since 1970.She was an avid gardener and couponer who loved flowers, cats and was a veracious reader. He enjoyed playing the slot machines in Atlantic City, BINGO, coin collecting, hunting & fishing, working on automobiles, and WWII history.Together they enjoyed dining out, visiting the Poconos & Brigantine, NJ, traveling with the family to Canada for a fishing adventure, boating in Nockamixon, and going to Williamsburg, VA to learn about history.They were both strong willed individuals. She had a very positive outlook on life and enjoyed helping others. She was also a people person and a strong prayer warrior. She often was heard uttering a quote “If it’s not one thing, it’s 10!” He was a devoted husband and father. He was a constant jokester who enjoyed telling bad pun jokes like “Be alert! The world needs more LERTS!” They are survived by their two sons, James Laurance Saylor & wife, Karen of Pottstown, PA, Paul Andrew Saylor & wife, Amy of Perkasie, PA; their five grandchildren – Andrew, Ashley, Aysia, Khristian, & Lauren; his brother, Paul Edward Saylor, Jr. of Harleysville, PA; her two sisters, Frances Pellegrino of Norristown, PA, Pearl Lannutti of Langhorne, PA; and their spiritually adopted daughter, Holly Herbert of Lederach, PA.In addition to all of their parents, they were preceded in death by their son, Peter Evans Saylor; her brother, John Lannutti; and her four sisters, Rose Monastero, Mary Anuzelli, Helen Cassano, & Angeline Pillotti.A private burial will take place at Immanuel Leidy's Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in their memory to: Hospice Memorial Fund c/o Grand View Hospital, 700 Lawn Ave, Sellersville, PA 18960.Arrangements by: Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 East Broad Street, Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964.
