Jeffrey's Obituary

Jeffrey Jacobs, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 8, 2025, at the age of seventy-nine.  A man of deep love, quiet strength, and enduring faith, Jeffrey touched the lives of all who know him with his warm smile, generous spirt, and unshakable devotion to his family.

Jeffrey was born on December 9, 1945, to Jessie Mae Graham Toney and the late James Jacobs, Sr. in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He was raised in a home grounded in faith, love and community.  From a young age, Jeffrey exhibited a natural charm and southern hospitality that made him a friend to all.  He never met a stranger; he welcomed all.

Jeffrey attended Booker T. Washington High School as well as Southern University.  He loved his country and was a dedicated veteran having served in the United States Army as a sharpshooter and earned a National Defense Medal.  Afterwards, he had a lengthy career as a welder of Jay Ray McDermott.

A devoted family man, Jeffrey was united in marriage to his lifelong sweetheart, Cassondra Bowman Jacobs.  Their love stood the test of time and was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew them.  Through their beautiful union, they were blessed with three children.

Jeffrey's love extended beyond his immediate family into the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride.  His legacy lives on in their laughter, values, and memories they carry forward.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jessie Mae Graham Toney, his father James Jacobs, Sr., and dhis siblings Isaac Green, Alsice Toney Jr., and Shedrick Toney.

He leaves behind his loving wife Cassondra, children Desiree Prout (Samuel) Jeffrey Jesus Jacobs, Enjess Jacobs, and Nikola Coleman (Kevin)  Grandchildren are Trent Prout, Trevor Prout, Tre Prout, Kayla Prout, Edjanai Bolds Jaiden Jacobs, Rene Fagan, Debonair Jacobs, Romello Edwards, Antonio Edwards,  Larceni Jacobs, Daisyonne Wallace, Kourtney Coleman, Kendall Coleman, and Keith Coleman.  Siblings are Beverly Reid, Slidell LA; Maryann Toney Howard, New York,NY; Joyce T. Jolly, Everta Toney and Sterling Toney and Sister-in-law Cynthia Toney of Slidell LA.  Godchild Michelle Ducre, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends whose lives were forever blessed by his love.

The family welcomes your prayers, fond memories and reflection as they honor the legacy of a remarkable man who lived a life of purpose, dignity, and love.

Visitation and Services will be held on August 25, 2025 at Doyle Funeral Home, Slidell, Louisiana. Visitation is from 10am to 11am and the Services begins at 11am.  The interment will be held at SE Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, Louisiana at 1:30pm
