Jerleen's Obituary

Jerleen H Skirven, age 88, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025.She will be remembered for her gentle spirit. Her unwiring love for her family and the kind she offered to everyone she met.

Jerleen devoted, 45 years to the medical field, serving with compassion, patience and deep dedication. Her work touch countless lives as she was admired by all who had the privilege of working alongside of her.

A woman of faith and community. Jerleen was a long-time member of the late clear Springs, Baptist church where she found fellowship comfort and purpose. She was also an active member of the Paxton garden club sharing her love of flowers nature and the beauty of growing things. 

Jerleen lived her life with joy, enthusiasm and gratitude. She was an avid NASCAR fan in a devoted supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide never missing a chance to cheer on her favorite driver and her beloved team. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for gardening, intending to her flowers, which filled her home with color and life. Some of the most treasure moments were spent sitting on her porch in the early morning hours, enjoying coffee with family and friends, surrounded by the peacefulness of nature. 

Jerleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Skirven, her parents, Ray and Rena Harrison and her brother, Benny Ray Harrison.

She survived by her children: Gerrie (Larry) Brown, Dorothy Deason and Robert (Kira) Skirven she was the proud grandmother two Jeremy (Amanda) Kyser and Jeff (Jessica) Brown

Her love carries on through her great grandsons Gavin Kyser, Skyler Trenton and Grayson Brown and Jensen Skirven of whom brought her immense joy.

Jerleen's live was one of service devotion and love. Her memory will forever remain a blessing to her family, her friends and all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1PM.
